A few hours before the opposition protest, the Secretary General of the Democratic Party, MP Flamur Noka, declared that the opposition is in a "battle against the Drug Regime."
According to Noka, Albanian citizens are forced to stand up to protect their rights from organized crime and corruption. He stressed that today's protest is an expression of revolt against what the opposition calls "Drug Control" and will continue until it is dismantled. In a statement to the journalist of News24 Osman Stafa, Noka warned that there will be more protests, until the government is overthrown.
The protest is planned to take place in the afternoon hours in the capital, with the participation of citizens and opposition structures.
"The opposition is in battle. We are in a grounded battle against the Narco-Regime. Albanians are in a battle to free themselves from the clutches of corruption, which the organized crime cartels steal from. The opposition cannot sit idly by. We have called for us to rise up, because there is no other way. To rise up, fight and stand up for our rights. We cannot accept this narco-state, as the only one in Europe. The protest is an expression of revolt against the Narco-Regime and will continue until it is dismantled," he said.
