DP leader Sali Berisha called on Albanian citizens to participate in the March 22 protest. He said it will be the largest peaceful uprising the country has ever known.

"March 22 is a day of inspiration for Albanians, the day when the most brutal dictatorship was de-facto overthrown. March 22 is the day when Albanians are invited to the greatest peaceful uprising that Tirana and Albania have known."

I say to every citizen, the fate of Albania is today more than ever in the hands of the citizens. As much as Albania's integration into the EU is fate, March 22 is a battle for Europe, the European path. Against a man who, in order to protect his theft, closed the doors to Albanians. These doors cannot be opened by any institution, other than Albanian citizens who must rise up in battle," he said.
