DP leader Sali Berisha, in a media appearance, invited citizens to participate in the opposition protest.

He said that citizens have thousands of reasons to protest in the square today. He also touched on the Balluk affair, while accusing Prime Minister Edi Rama of involvement.

"Today at 7:00 PM, citizens rise up in protest, over the violence of the territory and drug clans, the patronage police, their threats. Citizens rise up to protect the most vital interests, their own, of Albanian citizens. They rise up to protect the identity and honor of every Albanian, against a serious aggression by a criminal organization headed by Rama. He used 83 criminal mandates to cover up his and Balluku's thefts. Rama's latest act is the most hostile act he has undertaken in the series of hostile acts, against the rule of law and democracy in Albania. Blocking the lifting of immunity for the non-arrest of Balluku, was a shield for himself. In the Balluku file, he is a shareholder of at least 60% of the criminal acts that that file contains, 1.2 billion euros. Albanian citizens today have 1,001 reasons to emerge from the shell of conformism and fear to join us in the peaceful uprising," he said.
