A young woman from the Albanian diaspora in Germany, who joined the protest in Tirana, said that anti-government rallies are taking place in many countries around the world where Albanians live.
"I come from the diaspora, from Germany, where protests like here are held. Protests are being held everywhere in the world where there are Albanians. They resonate all over the world," she said.
She said that the flamingo symbol has now been associated with the protest movement and has also become known in the diaspora.
"Things have reached the point where when they see the flamingo, they remember our revolution here. We have managed to turn it into our symbol. I have tried to follow all the protests that have taken place in Munich and Düsseldorf. Those who hold these protests are dedicated. They have no personal interests, but we are talking about Albania," said the protester.
She emphasized that, despite the distance, Albanians in the diaspora feel connected to developments in the country.
"Despite being far away, we feel an extreme responsibility for this country. I want to say that the diaspora protests will continue. We stand in solidarity with you. Without youth, there is no Albania!", she concluded.
