DP leader Sali Berisha held his meeting with Albanians in America in New Jersey.
In his speech, Berisha described the US as "the land of the free" and "the home of the brave," emphasizing that his faith in American values remained unwavering even during the period when, according to him, he was out of power.
"I was 8 years without any power. But with unwavering faith in the USA, the values on which this great country and nation was built. A land of the free, home of the brave, crystal clear that this injustice was not coming from the USA, but from the anti-freedom agenda. Of what Donald Trump has called the extreme left. I started this battle in the dark, but no night can last forever. When I started this battle, the great American people decided to elect Donald Trump, the effects reached Albania. Those who showed us the grass, ended up unemployed... Those who signed my ban today are non-grata in their own country. Those who prepared the fraud against me in Albania are behind bars today, while I am standing today with two feet on this land that they thought to ban me forever", he said.
Excerpt from Berisha's speech;
For us today, this is an unusual day. Today is a day that for me again evokes emotions.
It's a day that many thought was impossible. It was a day we would never see. Because, let's be honest, many of us have asked ourselves at least once or more: who are we?
Who are we to challenge an injustice, when that injustice is done by forces many times greater than us? We have often asked ourselves these years, who are we, so that our voice of justice can be heard in a world where, unfortunately, injustice is increasingly being ruled.
Who are we to stay strong when at certain moments the whole world seemed against us. These are questions that truly make you feel small in a big world.
These are questions that make you feel powerless in the face of very powerful injustices. But this question, who are we, has an answer, which will forever be, will be an inexhaustible source of our power to make the impossible possible.
We are Albanians!
Because we are Albanians and we stand and fight undefeated for our dignity. Because we are Albanians, we fight and stand determined for our families.
We are Albanians, and therefore we fight in the most unequal conditions for our nation, its dignity and freedom. We are Albanians, and therefore we do not give up. That is why on days like this, we make the impossible possible. May God bless you!
This day marks one of those occasions, a force of evil that we all know, in an unjust aggression against my dignity, denied me entry to the United States of America 4 years ago.
At a time when I was, for 8 years without any power, almost completely withdrawn from political life. But, with the strength that characterizes us as Albanians, with the unwavering faith in the United States of America, the values on which this great country and nation was built, a land of the free, a home of the brave.
It is crystal clear that this injustice was not coming from the United States, but was coming from the anti-freedom, anti-national agendas of what President Donald Trump himself has labeled the far left.
Keeping in mind the expression of one of the brightest and legendary men of the great American nation, Abraham Lincoln, who says that 'it doesn't matter how many times you fall, but how many times you get up'. And I, and I decided to get up. I really started this battle at first glance in complete impossibility.
In the dark. But no night, no night can last forever. At the same time that I waged this battle, the great American people decided to rise up by electing Donald Trump as president in November 2024.
Little by little, the free world began to recover from the aggression of the extreme left, and the effects reached Albania. Those who showed us the grass ended up unemployed.
Those who signed my ban are now non-grata in their own country. Those who plotted the fraud against me in Albania are now behind bars, while I am standing with both feet on the ground they thought they would ban me from forever.
So today, I have boundless gratitude towards you, men, women, boys and girls, true Albanians who supported me in the first hours but also in the most difficult ones.
Unlimited gratitude to the administration of President Donald Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, for his decision.
