Leonard Luzi, who also goes by the surnames Zejno and Sejno, was extradited from Spain today. The 47-year-old is also known by the nicknames "Nard Çami" or "Daku".
Luzi has a long criminal record. He was arrested in Spain as part of Operation "The Recruiter", following cooperation between the authorities of the two countries, after being declared wanted by SPAK, as he is accused of being the organizer of the attempted assassination of Inez Hajrullas, known by the nickname "Sakati", and Ervis Matodashaj, known by the nickname "Qorri". The attempted assassination was recorded in August of last year.
Leonard Luzin is charged with the criminal offenses of "Providing conditions and material means to commit murder", "Structured criminal group", "Committing criminal offenses by a criminal organization and a structured criminal group" and "Unlicensed possession and production of explosive weapons and ammunition".
According to SPAK investigations, Leonard Luzi had recruited the hired killer Amarildo Nikolli alias Xhanej, known by the nickname "Shkodrani" to kill Inez Hajrulla and Ervis Matodashaj in the city of Vlora.
To carry out these murders, they were also helped by co-investigators Erjon Zejno and Muharrem Koroveshi.
The investigative file states that "Shkodrani" would be paid 500 thousand euros in total, 250 thousand euros for each, to kill "Sakat" and "Qorri".
The failed assassination attempt of August 8, 2023
Leonard Luzi, on August 8, 2023, had organized the murder of Matodashaj and Hajrulla, in collaboration with Amarildo Nikolli (Xhanej), Muharem Korovesh (alias Muharem Ismaili alias Muharem Myftaraj) and Erio Zejno. This crime was prevented by the Police, after citizen Amarildo Nikolli was arrested before he could commit the murders. At the time of his arrest, Nikolli's pistol with a cartridge in the chamber, ready to fire, was seized.
How did the criminal events begin?
Investigations have proven that the attempted assassination of citizens Ervis Matodashaj and Inez Hajrulla was ordered for revenge and to take control of gambling.
It turns out that on 22.03.2013, in the city of Vlora, citizen Erigert Zejno was shot dead. In connection with this event on 17.08.2013, citizens Ervis Matodashaj, Nadir Ferko and Altin Sejdiraj were arrested. On 21.04.2014, the Prosecutor's Office of the Judicial District of Vlorë decided to suspend the investigations for the investigators Ervis Matodashaj, etc., for lack of evidence, and on 04.12.2014, the investigations of this proceeding were suspended for the discovery of the perpetrators.
The defendant Leonard Luzi (Zejno), sent for trial, is a paternal cousin of citizen Erigert Ferik Zejno, killed on 22.03.2013, in the "11 Janari" neighborhood, Vlora.
The investigations proved that the defendant Leonard Luzi was financed by a still unidentified person to commit the murders of two citizens, Ervis Matodashaj and Inez Hajrulla.
