Accounting expert Altin Sulejmani, invited to the show "News24 "Weekend" with Megi Latifi, explained how the debt and interest forgiveness scheme will function within the framework of fiscal peace.

According to him, all fines and late fees for obligations up to 2014 are waived, with the exception of social security contributions.

"The principal is not forgiven, but the fines and late fees are forgiven. Liabilities until 2014 are forgiven a priori, while after 2014 certain conditions apply," said Sulejmani.

The expert explained that for the period 2014-2019, fines and late payment interest are waived provided that the principal obligation is paid.

He also listed two main benefit scenarios:

-If half of the obligation is paid by June 30, the other half of the principal is forgiven, as well as all fines and late interest.
-If payment is made by December 31, then 25% of the principal is forgiven, as well as late interest and penalties.

Sulejmani emphasized that the scheme aims to ease the burden on businesses with overdue obligations, creating opportunities for their repayment on more favorable terms.
