Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are embroiled in a legal battle over the purchase of a luxury home in Montecito, California, worth $15 million.

The previous owner, 85-year-old businessman Carl Wescott, founder of 1-800-Flowers, is seeking to void the property purchase contract, claiming he was unable to sign the agreement due to a neurodegenerative disease he has had since 2015.

In a court hearing held via Zoom on Tuesday, August 26, Perry stressed that she is seeking justice and defended her right to own the home. In May 2024, she acquired full ownership of the property in Santa Barbara County through the company DDoveB LLC. The judge had previously ruled that Wescott was legally competent to sign the contract and that he was aware of his actions during the process.

Katy Perry is seeking over $5 million in damages, including loss of rental income from the property since they began renting it out in February of this year.

The luxury home includes eight bedrooms, a swimming pool, jacuzzi and a guest house with ocean views. While the couple split in June 2025, it is not known if they ever lived in the property after purchasing it.
