As announced, the lecturers of the Faculty of History and Philology have gone on a one-day strike, demanding the fulfillment of several demands.
In a statement to journalist Aurora Golemi from outside the premises of this faculty, Professor Mark Marku emphasized that the decisions of the Council of Ministers are contrary to the European spirit. He said, among other things, that the Assemblies of all faculties will meet to make a decision on what the next action will be.
"The Faculty Assembly has been convened. The Assembly is the entirety of the lecturers. Therefore, it has been decided to declare a one-day strike. It is part of autonomy, independence in scientific research and scientific work. Independence in the content of teaching. There are 3 elementary things. The DCM violates all three of these. In a DCM it is stated that the government will produce a standard statute and on this basis other statutes will be built. Each university has its own statute. This is a direct violation of autonomy. We are with the vetting, but who will do the checking of the degrees. The Ministry is making a DCM for the bibliography. It is expected that the Ministry will make the books for the university, like in primary schools. We will set a day when we will gather together with the other faculty assemblies and come up with a position", - said Marku.
