The promotion of the book "When Silence Speaks" by Ahmet Shala, academic and former ambassador to Kosovo, who wrote about the trial in The Hague against the leadership of the KLA, is being held, a ceremony attended by the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, who is on an official visit to Pristina, on the eve of the 18th anniversary of Kosovo's Independence.
In her speech, Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani recalled the fight waged by Kosovo Albanians for freedom, while stating that the Kosovo Liberation Army is the most powerful ideal built by Albanians over the centuries.
Vjosa Osmani: In the darkest days we had sons and daughters who fought for freedom and showed that it was worth even more than life itself. The KLA is the most powerful ideal built by Albanians over the centuries. To protect the truth, we must write it. So I thank the author of the book “When Silence Speaks” for showing us that the truth does not always speak loudly. He brings the truth of what is happening in The Hague, where he turns silence into a powerful voice.
The KLA's war was not an impulsive act, but a response to an unjust reality and popular oppression. It was a fight for dignity, survival, and to protect the defenseless.
Reality must be understood, not instrumentalized by those who want to distort our history.
