Princess of Wales Kate Middleton's sensitive gesture was caught on camera as she waited at Windsor Castle with her husband and heir to the British throne, William, a 16-year-old teenager suffering from a rare and aggressive form of cancer.
Kensington Palace has shared photos of William and Kate's meeting with Liz Hutton.
The 16-year-old posted a 'list of things she'd like to photograph' online after being diagnosed with an extremely rare form of the disease.
The Prince and Princess of Wales spoke to the teenage 'photographer' after inviting her to take pictures at Windsor Castle fulfilling one of her wishes. As British network Sky News reports, Kate, who recently announced she has completed a cycle of chemotherapy after being diagnosed with cancer earlier this year, was pictured cuddling up to the 16-year-old from Harrogate.
In a personal message on social networks, William and Kate wrote: "Delighted to meet Liz in Windsor today. A talented young photographer who inspired us both. Thanks for sharing your photos and story with us. W&C'.

The teenager has also shared some photos from her meeting with the princely couple of Wales in a post on Instagram. "Such wonderful, genuine and kind people, I feel so blessed that my family and I had this experience." Liz also posted a photo taken of cyclist Sir Mark Cavendish being knighted by the Prince of Wales.
The British teenager was diagnosed with small desmoplastic cell tumor in January. Her disease is an extremely rare form of cancer that usually occurs in the abdomen, according to the charity Sarcoma UK.
Liz's mother, Vicky Robina, said in June that doctors had told her daughter she had six months to three years to live.
The teenager's diagnosis prompted her to post a 'list' online of all the things she would like to photograph.
The list includes her desire to capture various pictures of a music festival, a fashion shoot as well as the rehearsal of a big musical.
