Independent MP Marjana Koçeku has stated that she is working on a political platform, where environmental protection will be at its core.
She said that she is currently alone in Parliament for her cause.
"As an independent MP, I am working on a political platform where there will be several main points as an independent MP that essentially have the well-being of Albanian citizens. I think that the essence of this well-being is the connection we have with the environment and nature. I believe that it is a global challenge, not just Albanian, the relationships and balances that we can maintain with nature and the environment.
There are also events that are not in the hands of man, such as natural disasters, but in addition to this, there are also laws that are in favor of the destruction of nature itself and the support of a very small group of interests and people, which is why it is important to talk and work on environmental issues. Well-being is greater than economic gain, as it is the quality of water, land, environment, forests. Every river and mountain lost is a national loss and every land sold is a loss.
"Being a good Albanian does not mean carrying a flag, but protecting and being the master of what has been inherited and preserving it," she said.
