Mile Svilar is experiencing a unique and normal aspect of his career. The Roma goalkeeper has been named Serie A's best goalkeeper for the second season in a row, but despite his excellent form, he is not part of any national team.

Svilar was born and raised in Belgium, and in 2021 he decided to play for Serbia, making his debut in a friendly against Qatar. Only one appearance, but according to FIFA rules it is considered official and prevents him from representing another national team. After that match, Svilar changed his mind and chose Belgium, as he also has Belgian citizenship.

However, he has not been able to play for the “Red Devils” so far, and a return to Serbia seems difficult. The goalkeeper’s lawyers are working on the case, but the chances of seeing Svilari in the Belgian national team and as Thibaut Courtois’ successor remain uncertain. Meanwhile, the Roma goalkeeper continues to confirm himself in the elite of Italian football, winning the award as the best goalkeeper in Serie A for the second time in a row.
