Former Prime Minister of Kosovo and leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, spoke on the show "Oponencje" on News24, where he focused on relations with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, as well as relations between Tirana and Pristina over the years.

Haradinaj emphasized that confidential communication channels should exist between the two Albanian capitals, which, according to him, should not go through intermediaries or analysts.

"Pristina and Tirana should have confidential communication channels. They should not be done through realtors or those who do analysis," he said.

Speaking about political relations with Tirana over the years, Haradinaj said that Albanians should have the right to discuss and contribute to common national issues.

"It is not bad to become the leader of Albanians, any of us, because every Albanian has the right to speak about our issues," he declared.

He also focused on the periods of clashes with Prime Minister Rama, linking them to important political and security challenges in Kosovo.

According to Haradinaj, one of the main issues was Kosovo's sovereignty and the imposition of a tax on Serbia, which he described as a matter of state defense.

"The tax was sovereignty. If I were to remove it, I would be demonstrating Kosovo's inability to maintain its territory and market," he said.

Haradinaj also mentioned the issue of the Special Court and the dialogue process with Serbia, emphasizing that there was a lot of political and international pressure during that period.

He added that the criticisms and clashes were not personal, but related to his positions on strategic issues for Kosovo.

"It wasn't just about Rama, but about the position I took to protect the national interest," Haradinaj said.

According to him, it is necessary to distinguish between everyday politics and national issues, which should not be affected by changes in governments or political leaders.

"We should have two leagues: one for governing issues and a national league, where all decision-makers defend the national interest," he said.

Haradinaj also praised Albania's improvements in the security field, describing the country as a reliable international partner. He added that he has also had good relations with other Albanian political figures such as Ilir Meta and Sali Berisha.
