The head of the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, has issued very serious accusations from the parliament's rostrum towards Prime Minister Edi Rama regarding the much-debated Zvërnec project. Bardhi openly declared that behind the billionaire investors is a structure registered in a tax haven in the Netherlands, which protects the real beneficiaries, while emphasizing that the Zvërnec cause has brought citizens together not only for the environment, but against the arrogance and corruption of the government.
In his full plenary speech, the leading democrat Bardhi held the head of government accountable for the dismissals in the Vlora Cadastre, mentioning specific names of Rama's close associates and oligarchs who are suspected of having occupied properties in that area.
"The agreement hides the owners in the Netherlands, the issue stinks in the Vlora Cadastre"
Bardhi stated that the opposition is not against development, but against the extortion of public and private property through dirty money, accusing the prime minister of keeping the names of the ultimate beneficiaries secret.
"We don't know who Edi Rama is giving the right to develop one of the most beautiful areas of Albania, because he has accepted an agreement that hides the real owners behind a structure registered in a tax haven in the Netherlands. If he has nothing to hide, he shouldn't bother finding internal and external enemies among the protesters. Let him come out and say if he has dismissed the directors of the Cadastre in Vlora for the stinking issue of properties in Zvërnec. Did Ergys Agasi and Engjëll Agaçi acquire properties there? And not only these... let him explain to us the role of the two main oligarchs who have not left a port, airport or coast without occupying it with his signature," declared Bardhi.
Reading the stance of citizens who have been protesting for days, the leader of the DP group said that the curly pelican or flamingos are only part of the revolt, as the essence lies in the hostile spirit and state violence.
"They are against the arrogance of power, against state violence and the usurpation of everything. They are against the dictatorship of dirty money! The Prime Minister invents malignant conspiracies, involving neighbors and even touching on religious beliefs to touch patriotic feelings. Albania is not under attack by anyone, it is only under attack by the arrogance and corruption of Edi Rama. This country has only one enemy: its Prime Minister."
After comparing the promised figures for Zvërnec with those of the Port of Durres, Bardhi revealed a serious technical scandal occurring with the Alabar project in Durres, calling Rama's vision a "concrete square."
"When I heard about 4 billion euros of investments in Zvërnec, I remembered the Durrës marina with 2 billion euros. In theory we have the grand vision, in practice the project in Durrës is crumbling and sunk in sand! The first two buildings of the 'project of his life' have sunk. One building has sunk by 28 centimeters, the other by 18 centimeters! And this great visionary does not say a word. I am one of those who would not trust Edi Rama with even my garden. Because if I hired him as a gardener, I would find mortar and bricks instead of flowers," the Democrat MP ironically said.
At the end of his speech, Gazment Bardhi gave his support to only one point of the Prime Minister's recent statements:
"Mr. Prime Minister, you have my full support for only one thing: leaving the government. You would do very well to flee to your village. You do very little damage in Surrel," Bardhi concluded.
