The Rraja clan has once again become the protagonist of a conflict in Nikël, Fushë Krujë. Flamur Rraja, brother of former Socialist Party MP Rrahman Rraja, was declared wanted by the Krujë Police, after a property dispute he had with the Caca family. He is suspected of raping Kujtim Caca and his family members over a property issue.
Flamur Rraja's son, Ariel Rraja, who is the nephew of the SP MP, was also declared wanted.
But who is Flamur Rraja?
Flamur Rraja, in addition to the incident two days ago, is suspected of having, on July 6, 2023, together with other members of the Rraja tribe, physically assaulted members of the Maja tribe in Nikël. A video shared on social media showed the barbaric violence inflicted by Flamur Rraja, who had also called for help from his brother, Xhelal Rraja.
After the incident, the police took the testimonies of two cousins, Jashar and Bilbil Maja, who were raped by the Rraja tribe. The police went to the homes of the two victims, Jashar and Bilbil Maja, and took their statements about the incident.
In her police testimony, Bilbil Maja said that she was in the bar with her cousin talking to the company's engineer and then at some point, according to her, the brothers Xhelal and Flamur Rraja approached her with guns in their hands. According to Bilbil Maja's testimony, they told her to lie down on the floor, pointed the gun at her stomach and insulted her. According to Bilbil Maja's police testimony, when she was lying on the floor, she saw other people approaching her with baseball bats and attacking her.
"In the bar, I saw that when I lay down on the floor, four other people entered, including "Caku", who is the owner of the quarry. They had sticks in their hands with which they hit us. Flamur Rraja hit me with the bolt of the pistol, while Xelal Rraja hit me from behind with the butt of the pistol," Bilbil Maja told the police.
The serious incident occurred after the residents of Nikla reported it to the Fushë Krujë Police, and protested in the streets that the activity of a quarry owned by Përparim Rraja, the cousin of the socialist MP who resigned after the incident, Rrahman Rraja, was destroying their homes.
Cousins Bilbil and Jashar Maja were beaten and threatened with weapons by members of the Rraja tribe, including the son of former MP Rexhep Rraja, brothers Flamur and Xhelal Rraja, Përparim Rraja, Klajdi Rraja and Edison Meta. This incident caused Rrahman Rraja to resign as MP.
