The territorial reform, which erases the Municipality of Dimal from the map of municipalities, has brought the residents of Dimal to the streets to protest again today.

With the motto "Dimal remains Dimal. The voice of citizens must be heard", the residents of Dimal Municipality have requested that the government not touch this municipality.

According to the residents, Dimal has existed since the 5th century BC and is a municipality with history, traditions and high economic potential. The residents call on Rama not to touch the Dimal Municipality, whose name he himself changed in 2015 (from Ura Vajgurore to Dimal), with decision no. 34 of the Albanian Parliament.

According to residents, the merger of Dimal with Berat will negatively affect not only the provision of necessary services to citizens, but also the economic development of one of the country's municipalities, which, with agricultural products and greenhouses in the villages of Kutalli, Samaticë, Drenovicë, Cukalat, Gorica, etc., has been supplying international markets for years.

Likewise, the Dimal Municipal Council held an emergency meeting, where, after approving the invalidity of the proposal made by the government for the merger of this municipality, arguing that in relation to this, contrary to Article 89, the advantages of this merger are not argued with either facts or feasibility studies, the 18 members of the Municipal Council present (out of 21 in total) voted "In favor" of not merging Dimal as a municipality.
