The return of citizens and the diaspora to the squares to protest against Edi Rama's cabinet has been seen as an important signal for the continuation of the reaction against the government. Guest on the show "News24 Weekend”, researcher Evarist Beqiri analyzed the dynamics of the rallies throughout September and the government's efforts to dampen the civic revolt.

According to Beqiri, the activism of Albanians living abroad gives a new massiveness to the opposition reaction. "It is very good news that the diaspora has returned to protest again. However, during these months the diaspora has been active with protests abroad as well. Not only the diaspora, but also the citizens of Tirana have returned to protest during September," Beqiri explained.

The researcher further denounced the mechanisms of state control and propaganda, which according to him have worked in an organized manner to create divisions among the protesters.

"It is positive that there is a return of numbers because efforts were made to disrupt the protest, the machinery of power, propaganda have done their job and have tried to create division and conflict among people to forget the cause," said Evarist Beqiri.
