A strong message comes from the protest in Rrjoll, where local residents are against the construction of a tourist resort.
One of the protesters, a former police officer, claimed that the residents are not for violence, but for the recognition of their rights. Among other things, he added that Albanian youth have been left with a legacy of a country where crime and corruption reign.
"For years, you can't come to this village by any means of transport, not even by donkey. But if you are in power, a criminal, you are protected by the police. Today, 27 police vans in Rrjoll. Today, we have a government and a justice system that don't catch criminals, but deal with citizens. I'm not going to harm people. Should a people be revolted? Why do they want justice? At my age, I was disappointed that we have forgotten those young people who are protesting today. I say this with all my heart, I know what the police are. Come out today for justice. I'm not one to be pushed around, because I'm against violence. God protect you!", he said.
