Activist Migen Qiraxhi said Erion Braçe's candidacy for the Municipality of Tirana showed that the Socialist Party does not have an 'internal democratic life'.

During an interview in "News24", activist Qiraxhi said that Erion Braçe is a victim of his party, because according to him, Prime Minister Rama has shown that he decides, and it has been seen that he also announces important decisions to the Assembly.

He further emphasized that 'the chaos in the SP now is that there is no one and some two are fleeing to prison. So the fate of the 2 is that they go behind bars. In this sense, we need to understand who the heir to the SP could be. I have little faith in the fact that it could come from non-political ranks.'

He further emphasized that there are advantages in Braça, but again the chaos in the SP does not give him the right opportunity.

"He has an advantage that comes from elections where he has tested his vote and therefore he has the same courage. He has been on the open lists and broke it and this is also a reason that gives him courage. I don't know if this is what is happening in the SP, but he has issued a request related to the candidacy for the Municipality of Tirana. But it gives us to understand that he is part of the political formation of a party that has no internal democratic life. Because the mayor of Tirana is appointed by the Prime Minister from the Assembly, while it should be the citizens who have forums, branches, sections, discuss, issue proposals and then elect the mayor. In this sense, Erion Braçe is a victim of his own party where he has not significantly contributed to a democratic atmosphere within his party," he said.
