The President of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, has reacted from his cell to the power outage on Monday evening at the QSUT, endangering the lives of patients in intensive care.

Meta mocked the government by saying that the incident that put people's lives at risk is a "success" of free healthcare, corrupt concessions, but also millions of euros invested in energy.

"This is the "greatest success" of free healthcare, of corrupt concessions and of hundreds of millions of euros of investment in the energy sector. Schizophrenic theft, putting the lives of citizens at risk even in hospitals, is criminal," said the PL leader.

The QSUT reacted after the incident by saying that the interruption was temporary and that vital medical equipment continued to function normally.

The Head of the Anesthesia and Resuscitation Service, Krenar Lilaj, told the media earlier today that the defect was serious, but that the patients' lives were not put at risk. He stated that patients on ventilators are equipped with a 'backup', enabling operation even after a power outage.
