Calabria becomes the first region with a single statute in Italy to activate Rai programs dedicated to a minority language.

The recent agreement signed between the Presidency of the Council of Ministers in Italy – Department for Information and Publications – and RAI, and the Public Service Contract, which recognizes the identity and rights of historical linguistic minorities, was made for the Arbëresh of this region,

A 13-month program, with the project being carried out by Massimo Fedele, director of RAI in Calabria. The announcement was reflected in a message from Anila Bitri Lani, the Albanian Ambassador to Italy, read by Honorary Consul Anna Madeo: “This is a fundamental step not only for the Arbëresh, but for the entire Italian-Albanian friendship.”
