The leader of the Mundësia Party, Agron Shehaj, has reacted to the situation created regarding judges' salaries, and the recent clashes between the government and the judiciary. Shehaj stated that Prime Minister Edi Rama has withdrawn from his position and is forced to continue paying judges.
According to the leader of the Opportunity Party, the salaries of judges and prosecutors are determined by the government and the socialist majority itself, despite Rama's recent statements about their level. Shehaj said that at the time the government thought that by increasing salaries it would have an impact on the justice system, but according to him this did not happen. According to him, the clash between the executive and the judiciary began after the justice institutions continued to act independently and launched investigations against people close to the prime minister.

Now, what is the truth about the salaries of judges and prosecutors? These salaries were set precisely by Edi Rama and his majority, despite Rama now saying that their salaries are too high. But at the time, Edi Rama thought he controlled justice and thought that, by doing this favor to the judges and prosecutors, they would spare him and his majority, but this did not happen.
Justice acted independently, as it should be. At least some of them did not ask who was in power, but began to investigate and demand the arrest of Edi Rama's closest people. There began the clash between the executive and the judiciary, they got so far that Edi Rama refused to pay their salaries.
We are now at a point where this clash will continue and Albanian citizens, all of us, must support justice. Only in this way can we build a future in Albania for all Albanians, not just a minority.
