The DP has reacted through former MP Enkeled Alibeaj regarding the European Drug Monitoring Center report, which he said confirms the strong connection between power and dirty money to buy elections.

"This report proves that Edi Rama has not only built a narco-state since the first days of his government, but has also used organized crime to oppose the opposition, to intimidate opponents, and to silence society and the media in all forms," said Alibeaj.

Full statement:

File 184 for the buying of elections in Dibër and file 339 for the buying of elections in Durrës, Shijak, Kavajë and Lezha through international drug traffickers from the ruling Socialist Party are not isolated cases of Edi Rama's government's partnership with organized crime.

The latest report by the European Drugs Monitoring Center, which cooperates with Europol, confirms the strong connection between power and dirty money to buy elections.

This report proves that Edi Rama has not only built a narco-state since the first days of his government, but has also used organized crime to oppose the opposition, to intimidate opponents, and to silence society and the media in all forms.

The findings of the European Drugs Monitoring Centre report bring serious facts

The report lists the services that organized crime and international drug traffickers provide to governments to maintain power. They range from supporting political candidates to financing electoral campaigns in exchange for immunity from prosecution and other benefits of power; from intimidating opponents in elections to disrupting opposition party rallies and sealing government-organized crime cooperation by manipulating election results.

"Political parties have benefited from funds from organized crime figures. Members of criminal groups have served as commissioners at polling stations. Despite the lack of investigations or court decisions, MPs and ministers have been the targets of public accusations for their links to organized crime. Organized crime has managed to neutralize society, even in terms of freedom of speech," the report says.

All these services that maintain Edi Rama's power have brought about the impunity of organized crime from the police and from justice. Not a single criminal organization, not a single drug trafficking boss has been arrested or convicted during Edi Rama's government, because the connections of organized crime all lead to the prime minister's office.

It is the connections between politics and crime that have kept the country hostage, underdeveloped, unintegrated, isolated. In order to break these connections, Edi Rama must go!
