An activist from the protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office has brought attention to the history of Albanian emigration, recounting the story of his family members who once crossed the mountains towards Greece in search of a better life.

"My uncle told me how he went to Greece with another uncle, from the mountains to Greece. When I was little, it seemed like great bravery to me. But you know how many Albanians have died on the roads, for a different future," he said.

According to the activist, today Albanians have easier ways to leave the country, but the main problem remains the lack of prospects for those who choose to stay.

"Today we are faced with other solutions. The ways of leaving are more comfortable, but there is no perspective. We have to leave here every day," he declared.

The activist criticized the Albanian political class, saying that his political disappointment has passed from one force to another. "Just as Saliu's government disappointed my family, today Rama has disappointed me," he said.
