Hungary plans to include in the Constitution a two-term limit for the Prime Minister, up to four years.
According to Bloomberg, the relevant amendment was proposed by the party of new Prime Minister Peter Magyar.
According to the initiative, a person will not be able to hold the position of head of government for more than two consecutive terms, or a total of eight years.
If the new rule applies to previous terms, former Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who led the government for 16 years, would be effectively banned from running for office again.
