Ukraine has carried out a massive drone strike against Russia overnight, sending more UAVs than Russia has attacked Ukrainian territory, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. Russian air defenses claim to have intercepted and destroyed 170 Ukrainian drones over Russian regions and occupied territories since 9 p.m.
Russia, on the other hand, attacked Ukraine overnight with 97 drones. The drone attacks from Ukraine hit regions such as Tver, Bryansk, Belgorod, Kaluga, Kursk, Smolensk, Tula, Rostov, Volgograd and Saratov, as well as Krasnodar Krai, Adygea and the Moscow region. According to Russian officials, 20 drones were moving towards Moscow.
Attacks have also been reported in occupied Crimea. Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said air defenses had shot down at least 26 more drones and that Domodedovo Airport and Zhukovsky Airport were temporarily closed to traffic.
