The identity of the victim in the tragic accident that occurred today at the Varibop-Levan-Tepelena intersection has been revealed.

According to sources from the scene, but also official sources from the Local Police Directorate, a Kia car driven by a 39-year-old citizen, identified as Nertila Abazaj, left the Varibop village road to enter the Levan-Tepelena highway. At the moment of entering the highway, her vehicle was hit by a van that was circulating on this road axis. As a result of the strong impact, the 39-year-old woman lost her life at the scene, while the driver and passenger who were in the van were transported to the Fier regional hospital to receive medical assistance and are out of danger.

Immediately after the accident, the Police and the traffic patrol arrived at the scene to normalize the movement of vehicles in this segment. The fire services were also called to enable the removal of the victim's body from the vehicle.

Meanwhile, the investigation team is working to clarify the circumstances and causes of this tragic accident.
