Interpol Tirana specialists, in cooperation with their Kosovar counterparts, have finalized the procedure for the extradition from Albania to Kosovo of a 50-year-old man convicted of murder.

Kosovar citizen Anton Allakaj, 50, was declared an international wanted person after the Peja Court sentenced him to 11 years and 6 months in prison for the criminal offense of "Murder" in 2021. According to authorities, Allakaj still has 9 years and 8 months left to serve from the sentence handed down by the Kosovo court.

After the completion of legal procedures, the 50-year-old was extradited from Albania and handed over to Kosovo authorities to serve the remainder of his sentence.

"Interpol Tirana specialists, as a result of cooperation with counterparts, finalized the procedure for the extradition from Albania to Kosovo of the Kosovar citizen, Anton Allakaj, 50 years old, who was wanted after the Peja Court, in 2021, sentenced him to 11 years and 6 months in prison for the criminal offense of "Murder". Of this sentence, the 50-year-old has 9 years and 8 months of imprisonment left to serve," the police explain.
