The United States has approved the possible sale of Patriot air defense missiles to Ukraine, worth $2,1 billion.
The news was reported by the Bloomberg news agency, which cited the US State Department, according to which this agreement will be financed by Ukraine's allies and partners.
The proposed sale aims to further strengthen Kiev's defense capabilities, particularly in countering air attacks and protecting the country's critical infrastructure.
Patriot systems are considered among the most advanced air defense devices in the US arsenal, as they are designed to identify and intercept ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and other aerial targets.
American approval paves the way for further procedures to complete the sale, while funding from allies and partners aims to ease the financial burden on Ukraine.
