The Trump administration could announce an executive order on artificial intelligence and cybersecurity as soon as Thursday.

According to the publication, the document envisages the creation of a mechanism for voluntary verification by federal agencies of the most advanced artificial intelligence models before they go on public sale.

Developers are required to submit such models to relevant agencies for review 90 days before they are released to the market. This process may involve officials from the US Department of Treasury, CISA (Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency), NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology), NSA (National Security Agency), and the White House.

Part of the executive order will be dedicated to cybersecurity. The Pentagon will be given 30 days to strengthen the security of key networks, including telecommunications and information systems.

The second part of the document is expected to outline an evaluation process for so-called advanced models. According to the sources, final conclusions on such systems will be drawn by the National Security Agency in consultation with other agencies.
