The Chairwoman of the Tourism, Culture and Diaspora Committee, Ina Zhupa, denounced the "Gateway to the Alps" initiative as a package with an electoral background for the 2027 local elections, emphasizing the lack of transparency and concrete projects.

According to her, it is a matter of borrowing 50 million euros without a clear destination, which risks being used to distribute funds during the campaign and for party interests.

Ina Zhupa's reaction:

Parliament is not asked to approve a project, but a vague financing framework, where the projects are unknown and will be decided later. It clearly looks like a package of 50 million euros that will serve, on the one hand, to alleviate the needs of the customers of the mountain package and, on the other, to distribute funds to the electoral campaign.

The year 2027 is an electoral year. This loan agreement, which we must approve today, will have the funds distributed precisely at the time of the 2027 electoral campaign. They will be as contributions to elect the party's favorites to receive projects from the "Gate of the Alps". It is a debt of 50 million euros, without destination, for electoral purposes, for benefits and extortion, either of public property, or for the construction of mechanisms that will serve you electorally in the coming year.
