A young woman from the diaspora in Germany has joined the popular protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office building, conveying a touching message about love for the homeland, the true meaning of patriotism, and the urgent need for the return of compatriots to the country.

The young woman shared her symbolic feelings for Albania and her reflection on patriotism today: "I come from Germany in the diaspora. The time has come for a new Albania. For me, Albania is sometimes a mother waiting at the door with great pain and suffering, and sometimes it seems to me a girl from the south who loves beauty and goodness. Albania is a woman, a mother, a girl, a noble mother that the men of this land call mother."

"Until yesterday, I didn't call myself a patriot. But these days I've realized that true patriotism is knowing your history, speaking your language, respecting the land and nature, and raising your voice when your country needs it, especially now!"

Further, she called on citizens not to give up in the face of crises and to unite to build the future:

"No one can take away our hope, it is the greatest power a person has and there is no government or ruler who can take it away from us! Our people are tired, they have lived through many crises and problems, we have seen rulers who have thought about themselves and not the people."

"Many ask why I believe again, and I have come to tell you not to lose hope together, because beautiful things take time and great roads are not built overnight. A new Albania is built by all of us, not by one person."

At the conclusion of her speech, the young woman brought to attention the worrying figures of the active labor force leaving the country:

"We talk about people who are leaving as if they are numbers, but they are our people. In 2025, there will be 2.3 million Albanians in Albania, 2.2 million abroad. So 1 in 2 Albanians lives abroad. Of these, 400 thousand are children. 77% of those living in the diaspora are an active workforce that is missing in Albania, but is exploited abroad."

"These figures not only sadden us, but should alarm us and lift us up. We must bring the diaspora back here to the heart of this country, with dignity and with a state that respects its people."
