The waves of civic protest that have engulfed Tirana for more than a week have crossed borders, also igniting the Albanian diaspora in Italy.

Yesterday, Albanians living and working in Turin gathered in a peaceful protest, in solidarity with the rallies taking place in their homeland.

With national flags and banners in their hands, compatriots in Italy have raised their voices against the failure of the political class, demanding the removal of the government and Prime Minister Edi Rama.

This protest in Turin comes at the same time as the revolt in the Albanian capital has reached its peak. Just a day earlier, the eighth consecutive protest took place in Tirana, where thousands of citizens filled the squares.
