Albanian students have announced the organization of a protest on May 26 at Skanderbeg Square in Tirana, in solidarity with the recent developments related to the issue of the Albanian language in North Macedonia.
The initiative comes just two days after the protest held in Skopje, where a group of students leaving from Tirana were not allowed to cross the border and were diverted towards Kumanovo, increasing tension and reactions among young people.
According to the announcement, the rally will start in the center of the capital and then continue with a march towards the Embassy of North Macedonia in Tirana.
The organizers have chosen as their slogan "Albania is with Skopje", emphasizing the message of unity and support for Albanians across borders. They call on young people to join the protest to give a clear signal of solidarity and to show that, according to them, "we are one".
