Haki Çako-Head of Civil Emergencies in an interview for the lunch program on News24 spoke about the fire situation in the country. He emphasized that firefighting teams have been engaged and dedicated to extinguishing fires and preventing new outbreaks.
He added that the most problematic hotbed is in Dajti Mountain. He also underlined that 90% of the cases are fires set by humans.
"There have been some local rainfalls that have had a positive impact in the Priska area, in the area bordering Petrela and Lundra, but there too we have some hotspots where work is being done and they are under control. But the most problematic hotspot is the one that has involved the ridge of Dajti Mountain. In the operation on the 12th at night, there was a situation that required the engagement of structures to evacuate residents, but it was ensured that there was no damage to people. The Dajti area does not pose a risk to homes, but it is a National Park and attention is much more increased," he said.
