Besmir Malo, a student and volunteer who provides first aid to injured protesters, has denounced the studio News24 police violence and the lack of ambulances on the ground. He said that many young people have organized to help people injured during the protests, while describing the situation as unpredictable and with serious cases at any moment.

Malo said that one of the most difficult cases was that of a girl in her 20s, who, according to him, was hit in the head by a tear gas shell and suffered fractures. He said that the situation was made even more difficult by the use of gas by the police, while a Syri TV journalist took the girl inside to remove her from danger. The student also recounted the case of a boy who, according to him, was hit with a stone by the police. It took volunteers about two hours to get him to a safe place. He criticized the way the situation is being managed by the security forces, claiming that the violence has escalated since the protest in front of Parliament and that innocent citizens are also being affected.

"We are facing police violence. Many young people have been very involved, a solidarity has begun from them, who are trying to help in that sector where help is lacking, since there are no ambulances. The situation we are in is unpredictable for us. We have had serious cases at every moment.

The most difficult case I had was 3 days ago. A girl in her 20s was hit by a tear gas shell from the police and suffered a fractured head. I also found myself in difficulty because the police were attacking us with gas. The Syri journalist took the girl inside, because the situation was very serious. I have found myself in difficulty on many other occasions. Like with a boy who was stoned by the police. We waited 2 hours to get the boy out to a safe place. The real fight is on the ground, so I call on the authorities to have ambulances present at the protest. In the case we are in, we are dealing with extraordinary cases, we only have volunteerism.

What I see and feel as a father of a 13-year-old, I think that this youth is giving us the most beautiful message. We no longer have youth. So we must protect what we have. Albanians have managed to give their message. This situation we have come to today, police violence has escalated to protests in front of Parliament. Innocent citizens are suffering. I am not the only person who can confirm this, as there are images. The police have lost their control. In some places they abuse and rape in ways that are not proportional. We have a police force that is being ordered,” he said.
