The lower ring road of the city of Burrel is currently out of service even for residents living along it.
The road has suffered 4 collapses, two of which have damaged the entire body of the roadway.
The most problematic part is on its western side, where in at least two places the entire route has been severely damaged, making it impassable for any type of vehicle.
Most residents are unable to drive to their homes, and as the road collapse continues, it has also put homes at risk.
The total reconstruction of the Lower Ring Road of the city of Burrel is financed by the Albanian Road Authority with a value of 128 million new lekë, launched a year ago. This project is being implemented by the company “ULZA” sh.pk with the owner and builder Ndue Shpani, which in Mat alone has won projects for the reconstruction of four schools as well as the “Theme Park” project in Bulqiza.

Although the reconstruction works of this ring road began and were completed last year, it was not fully operational due to the damage caused by rainfall in October 2025.
Currently, this facility remains unapproved and untaken, which is expected to require further funding from the authorities to repair the damage.
This road has been constantly problematic in terms of collapses, and since 2010 it has been almost impassable for heavy vehicles.
Experts advise that piles be inserted on the lower side along the entire length of the ring road of approximately 1 kilometer, as according to them, this is the only way to increase stability, due to the large amount of groundwater coming from the city of Burreli.
