The Deputy Chairman of the Democratic Party, Belind Këlliçi, has called for the immediate establishment of a Parliamentary Investigative Committee regarding allegations of a suspected international arms trafficking scheme. Këlliçi accuses the government of not providing answers to the suspicions raised regarding the activities of the state-owned company KAYO, while demanding that the Parliament investigate the allegations made publicly by former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj.

In a reaction published on social media, Këlliçi writes: "Parliamentary investigation into the accusation of international arms trafficking, necessary and immediate! While the Minister of Defense should have submitted his resignation today and the Prime Minister should have been held responsible and accountable for the accusation accompanied by evidence of international arms trafficking, Edi Rama and Ermal Nufi appeared at an event as if nothing had happened.

We recall that last night, former Deputy Prime Minister Ahmetaj brought evidence of how the Prime Minister's personal friend, Israeli Ron Yeffet, in a communication with Ukrainian partners showed that he had everything under control in Albania and could do whatever he wanted with procedures, tenders, projects, and infrastructure.

He was hired by the Prime Minister to do the dirty work.

And the tool that Ron Yeffet had at his disposal in the field of arms trafficking that would be produced in Africa and packaged in Tirana, is precisely Ermal Nufi.

This is one of the most serious scandals of these decades, which seriously undermines our national security, but also that of NATO, of which we are a member.

While Edi Rama has shown that he protects every affair and every person involved, and in the conditions when SPAK is not performing its duty, it is necessary to establish the Parliamentary Investigative Commission that the Opposition has requested today as soon as possible.

Personally, I have demanded transparency regarding these suspicions and the activities of KAYO, the state-owned company created by Rama, but controlled by Ron Yeffet.

I have sent a request for information to the Minister of Defense for 5 months, without ever receiving any response.

This silence confirms the accusation made last night and the evidence made public about international arms trafficking.

Parliament has a duty to shed light on these facts, evidence, and accusations.

With the start of the new parliamentary session today, the Opposition's just request for the establishment of a Parliamentary Investigative Committee for this mega-scandal must also be taken forward!
