A serious case of domestic violence has been punished by justice in Thessaloniki, where a man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison after physically attacking his wife.

The incident took place in the apartment where the couple lived with their three children. According to the victim's testimony, the conflict began after she inadvertently woke up one of the children while they were sleeping. This was enough for the man to react violently, pushing her hard, which caused her to crash into a closet, and then grabbing her by the neck.

During the trial, the defendant denied grabbing her by the throat, but admitted pushing her twice, emphasizing that the second time he did so with great force.

The defendant was found guilty, while the court also imposed restrictive conditions on him, including a ban on his approach to the victim.
