The green border that separates Albania from North Macedonia has been constantly used for the smuggling of immigrants from eastern countries, but also of animals that enter our country in an uncontrolled manner.
It turns out that one person has been arrested, while three others are wanted.
Precisely due to these two phenomena, detailed controls of the green border between the two countries are being carried out.
Checks are being carried out by the border police in Bllatë, Dibra, but also by other structures.
Controls are being carried out with sophisticated tools to identify any cases of illegal crossings, smuggling and environmental crimes.
The operation is ongoing and it is suspected that cases of illegal passage of calves that enter the territory of the Republic of Albania in an uncontrolled manner and are traded in slaughterhouses and meat sales have been cracked down on.
Sources indicate that in the coming days there will be more intensive controls after possible points of illegal crossing of cows or calves from North Macedonia into our country have been identified.
