A fraud scheme linked to call centers operating in the heart of Tirana was uncovered a few days ago, while SPAK issued several arrest warrants. The leader of the 'Mundësia' party, Agron Shehaj, on the lunch program in News24 publicly denounced what he described as an open scandal, questioning the role and knowledge of state institutions.
According to Shehaj, in one of the capital's most expensive towers, two floors are used by Albanian and Italian citizens for suspicious financial activities, while, according to him, the police and authorities have not intervened.
"In the middle of Tirana, in one of the most expensive towers, two of its floors are used by Albanian and Italian citizens, and the police know nothing! A journalist from Italy should come and say: here they are. Is it possible that the police, the ministry or the government are not aware of this? These Forex centers are all over Albania. That is why we have requested an interpellation with the Minister of Interior, on how it is possible for a journalist to come and uncover this scheme!", said Shehaj.
He added that such Forex centers operate throughout the country and that the case discovered in Tirana is not isolated. For this reason, Shehaj announced that an interpellation has been requested with the Minister of Interior, to clarify how it is possible for such a scheme to be discovered by foreign media and not by Albanian institutions.
