The issue of Belind Balluku's immunity has been igniting Albanian politics for about three months, being the topic of plenary sessions characterized by tensions.
The Socialist Party is expected to present today, at the parliamentary group meeting starting at 10:00, the report issued by the Mandates Council, regarding the request of
SPAK, submitted on December 16, for the lifting of immunity and further arrest of Balluk.
The meeting is also expected to feature a speech by Prime Minister Edi Rama.
The two reports are expected to be voted on in the Assembly during the plenary session on March 12, a day when the DP has also announced a protest. The opposition is demanding the lifting of Balluk's immunity and her surrender to justice, while the majority is expected to oppose SPAK's request.
