A 19-year-old man was arrested in Lushnja, after allegedly injuring a 26-year-old man with a cutting tool (knife) after a conflict over weak motives.

The State Police services, specifically the Lushnje Police Commissariat, intervened immediately after being notified that the injured person, citizen E. Ç., 26 years old, had presented himself for medical assistance at the hospital. As a result of rapid investigative actions, within a few hours the suspected perpetrator, citizen DH, 19 years old, resident of the village of Stan Karbunarë, was identified, captured and arrested.

According to preliminary investigations, it is suspected that the conflict between two citizens started for weak motives and ended with the injury of the 26-year-old, who is in hospital with a life-threatening condition.

During a search of the 19-year-old's apartment, police found and seized 48,160 euros and 7,200 dollars of suspected counterfeit money, which were suspected of being put into circulation.

Following procedural actions, specialists for the investigation of crimes against the person at the Fier Local Police Directorate have arrested the 19-year-old for the criminal offenses of “Intentional serious injury” and “Counterfeiting of currency”. The materials have been referred to the Fier Prosecutor's Office for further action.
