Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has called for an early general election in the United Kingdom, following reports of Prime Minister Keir Starmer's resignation.
In a statement published on the platform “Substack”, Farage said that the country is facing ongoing political instability and that citizens have lost faith in the political class. According to him, the current situation shows the need for a new popular mandate through elections.
He accused the British political establishment of failing to meet voters' expectations and creating a climate of disillusionment, stressing that voters refuse to be taken for granted.

"What the political class doesn't understand is that voters don't accept being considered fools. They can't continue to take for granted the votes of citizens who supported them and then betray them once they have gained power. Politics is based on trust," he said.
"I call for a general election as soon as possible," Farage wrote.
Farage also cited Reform UK's performance in local elections, claiming that the party has gained significant support and has been leading in the polls for a long period.
He stressed that the United Kingdom can no longer afford political uncertainty and that early elections are the only way to restore political stability to the country.
