The way you cook meat is linked to cancer, according to Harvard gastroenterologist and Washington Post "Ask a Doctor" columnist Dr. Trisha Pasricha, who promotes marinating, whether it's beef, chicken or fish.

According to the doctor, marinating meat for even an hour before cooking can significantly reduce carcinogenic compounds by up to 88%.

As he explains, marinades work by creating a protective antioxidant layer, preventing the formation of these compounds, making cooking meats healthier.
