Democratic Party MP Jorida Tabaku has reacted to the property conflict in Vlora, blaming the government and Prime Minister Edi Rama for the responsibility.

Through a video published on social networks, Tabaku stated that, over the last three days, Albanians have only heard half-truths, while, according to her, the main truth has been avoided: state institutions have issued two different permits, for two people, on the same property.

"The state, the government and the prime minister are responsible, who have granted two different permits: one for strategic investment and one for property development, for the same land and for two different people," said Tabaku.

The Democratic MP raised the question of how the institutions were able to complete two complete procedures for issuing construction permits on the same property. According to her, the responsibility starts from the mortgage and goes up to the highest levels of government.

Tabaku described the decision to expropriate the property and turn the area into an olive grove as an attempt to avoid exposing administrative responsibilities.

"There is no olive grove that can wash the government's hands of the corruption committed in this case, from the mortgage all the way up to the Prime Minister," she emphasized.

Focusing on the property issue in Albania, Tabaku stated that citizens have been waiting for years and paying millions of lek in taxes and bribes to register their property, while the state system continues to produce uncertainty and conflicts.

According to her, the Vlora case is a clear example of chaos with ownership and the failure of institutions to guarantee legal certainty.

"We only hear rhetoric and propaganda, without an administrative investigation being conducted, without those responsible being identified and without holding them accountable. We cannot have a rule of law without respecting property," Tabaku concluded.

Three days after the conflict in Vlora, only one thing is clear: the state, the government, and the prime minister are responsible, who granted two different permits — one for strategic investment and one for property development — on the same land and to two different people.

How is it possible to conduct a complete process for issuing building permits to two different people, on the same property?

There is, therefore, no olive grove that can wash the government's hands of the corruption committed in this case, from the mortgage all the way up to the Prime Minister.

All this happens while Albanians wait for years and pay millions of lek in taxes and bribes to register their property. Imagine how much more difficult the situation becomes when the property has been purchased or transferred through another transaction.

What happened in Vlora is a very clear example of chaos with property. Meanwhile, we hear rhetoric and propaganda, without an administrative investigation being conducted, without those responsible being identified, and without holding them accountable.

Now we are told that the owners will be expropriated and the property will be turned into olive groves. But who will they expropriate? Or will they expropriate both, just as they were both given building permits for the same land?

We cannot have a state of law without respecting property.
