Messi and his team overcame the disadvantage and secured qualification for the grand final, where they will fight for the trophy. At the American World Cup, coach Esposito Duro said:
"Both teams fully deserve it. They deserve it, not with a good performance compared to the others, but I have that in matches of this level, a lot of interpretation has to do. Both Spain, and yesterday's, the interpretation was fantastic. They are definitely deserving, the champion of Europe and the world."
