The Chairwoman of the Committee on Culture, Tourism and Diaspora, Ina Zhupa, has accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of contradictory positions regarding the European Parliament resolution and the issue of protected areas. In a public reaction, Zhupa stated that “Rama does one thing, says another,” raising the question of why the majority continues to keep the draft law it submitted for the repeal of Law No. 21/2024 in the Assembly’s drawers, if the government is actually in line with the positions of the European Parliament.

According to the Democratic Party MP, the request to repeal this law has now become a clear demand of protesters, the opposition, and European institutions. While the environmental impact assessment is done before the permit and after you have brought in the bulldozers and approved the permits.

An extraordinary decision by the European Parliament, which reflects all the concerns of the opposition and the concerns of the protesters.

We all know that an environmental impact assessment is done before a permit is granted, before any type of intervention is made, and before the project appears as a $4 billion project, with a thousand jobs, and hundreds of other fantasies that the majority MPs have been displaying in recent days.

One is the non-negotiable demand of the protesters, the European Parliament, and every Albanian in fact: the repeal of Law No. 21/2024.

What is Edi Rama's position?

Is the stance the one he holds on Facebook, the one he greets, or is the stance the one he holds in the Assembly, the one who has kept my draft law to repeal Law No. 21/2024 in the Assembly's drawers since May 14?

It's been a month since he even made it to the committees, much less his turn at the plenary session.

That's why no one believes Edi Rama's propaganda. That's why citizens will protest, because their basic demand is not only the repeal of the four laws, which are too important to be repealed, but also the resignation of Edi Rama as a man who has used and continues to use Albania for personal interests and those of his clients.
