Tirana once again became the scene of a massive protest yesterday evening, the 17th in a row, where thousands of citizens gathered to demand the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama and his government.
During the rally, protesters unfurled banners with strong political and social messages, expressing dissatisfaction with the situation in the country and calling for change. Among the slogans that attracted attention were:
“We are not afraid, they are.”
"Enough debating the future, go and do it yourself."
"The Motherland is not given away or sold, but is inherited."
"Regular time is ending, we better not take it to penalties."
"History is knocking, it's time for answers."
"In this country, even the truth needs a building permit."
"The Homeland calls, the diaspora responds."
Some of the banners were also dedicated to European Commissioner Marta Kos, in reaction to her statements made the day before. The protesters displayed ironic and critical messages such as:
"Oh boss, it's true that Marta Kos has been sick."
"Neither the Ionian Sea nor the Adriatic will turn sour, Marta."
"Narta Kos is not done."
"Marta Kos, don't believe her! Rama resigns."
